Iron Man.
"On May 5, 2008, Marvel Entertainment released their first-quarter report to its shareholders to coincide with the announcement about the successful opening weekend of Iron Man, which grossed an estimated $100.7 million domestically and over $200 million worldwide. The announcement included an update of Marvel Studios' feature film slate with the already-rumored Iron Man 2 announced for a release on April 30, 2010, http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=44654"

No. I just am glad a comic-book movie was financed by the comic book company rather than the less-creative minded at a studio. I'm also happy because I enjoyed the hell out of the film and making your money back means they are gung-ho about a sequel. :-)

Iron Man is a great movie. I, and my nine year old stepson, totally loved it. And I usually hate comic book adaptations.

That says it all, man. Did you remember to stay past the closing credits?

Damn skippy. It was worth the price of admission. Of course, it means less if you're not familiar with the Iron Man story.

I am very familiar with the Iron Man story. The movie did not follow the story I am familiar with very closely. There was no scene in which he was shown to turn to steel in the great magnetic field. Also missing was a time-travel sequence for the future of mankind. His boots seemed to be made of some red and gold metallic alloy, rather than the lead boots that traditionally fill his victims full of dread. Also, many people wanted him in the movie, but in the original story it is well known that nobody wants him. Also, the movie made him out to be a heroic figure, but in the original story he kills the people that he once saved. But I understand that that's not going to work for a Summer action flick.
